Deep litter/bedding method in cold winter states

If you live in Minnesota/Wisconsin or state with comparable winter temperatures, can you share your success stories with deep bedding/litter method in a raised coop?
I am in upstate NY- My coop is raised, 5x6 coop with a run connected- they do not free range. I decided to utilize this method this winter, since I realized cleaning the coop every week was not conducive for me. Even though I was composting the shavings were not broken down enough so I was looking for another method and the deep method makes more sense for me. Which I can still utilize for composting.

Presently, I am using shavings in my coop and for the fall I added leaves, and in the winter I added straw(not a lot). I can tell you my coop does not smell. The ladies mix up the bedding, so the worst part, in my opinion, was adding new layers in the winter. Key is adding layers. My coop stayed warm in the winter. Not sure regarding summer since this will be my first full year.

However, this spring I plan on doing a Thorough cleaning before I introduce my new girls to the older ones. My preference - it is not needed to do the cleaning- and I plan on using hemp.

I learned a lot about deep bedding method also from Carolina coop. Here is there link in case you are interested. They have many videos on there web page- https://carolinacoops.com/video-tutorials/
