Hi every one,
We have just signed up and hope to create a bit of interest in our Zambian farm. It has become necessary for us to move onto 70 hectares of virgin forest in the middle of Zambia and we are going to raise chickens on deep litter. My parents(Roger's side) did this in Kenya in the early fifties and although hard to remember how we will try the same. Looking for lots of support and hopefully our systems will provide some info to others.

We are becoming a truly world wide community.

Be certain to show us pictures of your farm and chicken set up!

Would love to see what varieties of chickens are available in Zambia.

Yes, please post pics! I've been to Namibia, RSA, Zimbabwe and walked across the Limpopo into Bots but have not been to Zambia.

What breed(s) of poultry do you have (besides guinea fowl

)? It kind of freaked me out that some friends have turkeys in Zim!

We look forward to hearing how your deep litter method works.
Do you have a lot of predators you will have to protect the chickens
from?
