What exactly is the deep litter method?

Lots and lots of litter (bedding material) on the floor of the coop. If you run a search for deep litter or DLM you should be able to come up with some really good info. There was a thread about DLM a little over a month ago, that got into details about the depth of the litter.

A search on BYC? How do I do a search?

go up to the menu bar -- the blue bar beneath the name of the forum -- click on Search, enter deep litter or DLM in the keyword box, hit enter
