deer hunting

we went last weekend to put up trail cameras for the upcoming season.
with all that's been going on we haven't cut a trail to the deer stands so the thorn bushes were murder.. guess baby will be staying with a grandmommie while i bush hog a trail to the stands this weekend. last year we got a shot of a huge hog two feet in front of my stand, but man, i am still pulling stickers out of my skin from trying to push through all the underbrush. any one else deer hunt?

I don't hunt but my two stepsons do - venison makes for some super tasting jerky!! yummy!

no, never been hunting... unless you call retrieving my cat to hunt a mouse hunting???

I hunt on a friends farm every year, luckily my stand is alot easier to get to than yours

I give the credit to my older sister. She called me one night and said her hubby went in the woods and sprinkled deer urine all over himself with a bunch of buddies and they were gonna sleep together under the stars and not take showers.

she cracks me up.

I'm trying to talk DH into archery hunting this year. The deer are lousy around here and he could probably get one off of our back porch. Venison.......

My wife won't touch the stuff, but that's OK....more for me.

I only took one big doe last year, so I've been rationing myself...I'm still running out. Definitely gonna take two this year, if at all possible.

For those of you who may be new to deer hunting, or who rely on a professional butcher to get it to the freezer...buy this video.

I won't make a dime if you do, so don't worry that I'm trying to hock something.

I only mention it because my wife got me this DVD last year and it's been absolutely invaluable..

For instance...did you know that there's a big, nasty, green, disgusting yet easily removable gland hiding deep inside the rear leg, right by the eye of round? Do you know where the eye of round is? Do you know what the eye of round is good for once you find it?

We are serious hunters. We only eat what we hunt or raise and we live mainly off deer, wild turkey, and wild rabbit, and wild hog, and wild dove, and so on

I love to go with my DH but he says I itch too much and won't be still

My DD loves to hunt with her dad.

I like to take the video camera to record my DHs hunts.

I have a little bitty hind quarter thawing out to roast for supper now
