There is a resident doe who thinks that everything around my house is part of her buffet. If it were not for the fact that she has fawns, she would be venison. I have tried a half dozen different commercial products with little success. "Marking" my territory only seems to make her laugh, plus the Princess refuses to eat the tomatoes. So far the best repellant is when I hang my days worth of sweaty, stinky, work clothes around the house. The Princess is like, "What will people think when they see your underwear hanging out there?" My reply, "Who cares, and at least they will know that I wear underwear." Anyone have repellant ideas that keeps these giant 'rats' away?

I send my herding dog after them. In "Wooly Bear's" mind they're just live stock that need to fall in line. The deer do not appreciate this and no animal gets hurt.

If you don't want to deal with training a dog to chase them off, try a motion detecting water sprayer. It's like a regular lawn waterer, but it detects motion and sends a jet of water at the moving object.

It works great with kids cutting through your garden to " liberate" some of your veggies too.

Zaz, are you calling Sour a rat?
