Defective Chicken? Laid first egg and no 2nd egg in 1 month

Hello! I have heard that when chickens first start to lay, their systems can act a little strange. Is it normal that my hen laid 1 egg on Sept 27 and it's almost been a month and still no 2nd egg? What's going on and is there anything I can do to help? Thanks!

Also we are almost certain it was her first egg (speckled sussex). The other 2 are from a red sex link and a MPC BCM.
