So I have these eggs I put in on the morning of the 9th. I've been counting each subsequent day, morning to morning, as 1 day. Tomorrow is therefore the beginning of day 18, and I ought to stop turning them, and go on lockdown....right?

Unless I am supposed to count the first day as day zero. In which case, I stop turning them on Monday?

You can either stop turning them now or on monday.. wichever you choose. i counted the first day so i stopped turnign "tequnicly" a day early but all is going well and now on day 20.

1st day is 1....lockdown and get the humidity up to 50-60ish. DON'T OPEN THE BATOR! no more turning!!!
LOL i locked down a day early and we will see~ best of luck!!

I actually cheeted.. i thought yesterday was day 20/21 and i wasnt hearing anything so i started freaking.. i opened the bator and candled an egg... but humidity and temp stayed the same.. because i needed to add more water anyway.. and the egg is fine.

BUT I WOULD NOT SUGGEST DOING SO.. i just risked all my chooks i know..

I've done it both ways - stopped turning day 18 and day 19 and it hasn't seemed to make a difference. Good luck with your hatch!!
