So I’ve had these two khaki campbell ducklings for about a month and I’ve just noticed that they have somewhat deformed legs. Ones legs are turned inward, which I know can be normal, but the other has very weirdly messed up legs. One leg is stuck going forward and the other is far behind. She struggles to walk on her feet and is now walking on her joints and partially walking backwards. She looks like she just hatched and is trying to gain balance but has failed. She seems very happy and energetic and is able to eat and drink but I am nervous it might get worse. Some of the males in our flock might also pick on her when she gets older so I want her to be okay. Any suggestion on how to fix this?

Sorry, I just now got this reply, earlier this week we seemed to be doing worse, constantly falling over, tripping over himself, etc. But now after giving him some help and “physical therapy” he’s starting to walk on both feet and balance his weight between the two, which was his main problem. He’s doing a bit better now and I‘m going to continue helping him.

Great!

What exactly do you feed him?

We just recently had a Welsh Harlequin duck with a crooked leg that had a very hard time walking. She would walk then sit down. I installed a stock pond and let her and the other three swim every day for about a month and her leg got much stronger and now she just walks with a very slight limp. You can tell her legs are thinner than the rest but she is doing way better. Hope she gets better.

Sorry, it’s been a little while but for some reason I haven’t been getting notifications from here anymore but I’m here now. I can’t upload a video right now because he is taking a bath but I can tel, you that I believe I feed him Dumor starter/grower feed, the same as all the other ducklings I’ve had. Sometimes I have to give him a bit of finisher from my other birds when he’s out of food but I haven’t done that in a while. He cut his foot the other day and we had to bandage it up but even then he was extremely lively and happy. He’s definitely one of the sweetest ducklings I’ve ever owned. Quite social too.
