Went to the nest boxes today and found this. I’ve seen many deformed eggs, but none like this one. Does anyone know why something like this would happen?

OH GOODNESS. I'm scrolling through thinking "Oh just another deformed egg incident ill just have to tell em' its a lack of calcium or their molting." thats when i saw the picture. I have no clue of what happened (besides what i just said) but that is a very unique egg!......Its a little scary to be honest :lau

Now that you mention it, when I cracked the egg open, the membrane wouldn’t burst. I had to poke it with a butter knife to break the membrane, and then when it was cracked into the bowl, it looked as if it had the potential to be a double-yolker, but if the second yolk had broken into a million pieces.

Oooo, did you take some pics?
Probably not but next time, anything odd is good to photograph.
