I have an 8 day old chick with a deformed leg. She eats, drinks, and hops around fine. She snuggles with the other chicks and you can't tell anything different until she gets up and hops on her one good foot. Her right leg is drawn in and it looks like there is some joint issue (her joint looks larger than the other leg). Can anyone tell me what you think this may be? You think she will have a good outcome?
I have 3 leghorns (about 8 weeks old) in the coop outside and I have 5 red sex links in the coop (about 6 weeks). I have 4 new babies (8 days) and all of them are fine except my little G.G. Another question, if she makes it and does just fine, are the other chickens going to think her dangling foot is a worm and hurt her? Right now the other chicks don't mess with her, she fits right in. I am just thinking of when she has to move to the coop.
Here are some photos of her:
You can kind of see the joint in this photo.

This is how she hops around. She keeps her balance.

She eats, drinks, and is doing well. I am just wondering if there is going to be an underlying condition that may cause her to pass away?
All of you pros...what is your call????

OUCH, I would try and get her on some Vitamin B. Crush it up in her food or put it in her water. I have had leg problems with some of my chicks and apparently they didn't make it after about 3 months. There legs kept twisting up higher and higher, until they would be has high has there wings. Not sure what caused it. Her leg looks like it's doing the opposite, I wish I had more for you, hope she pulls threw..

I have some regular vitamin b, does it have to be a certain dose? and i guess i will need to separate her from the others to make sure she is on the only one who gets it, right?
in the past few days i haven't noticed any changes in the leg. in the picture she is holding it up but it does go a little lower, like when she is relaxed. if she is hopping though, she "draws it up". it looks like she can sort of control movement in it, just not walk on it. the foot itself is surely deformed, the toes are curled in some toward the body.

Yes. regular vitamin b will work, I usually drop a pill into the water, it will adventurally dissolve but you have to keep stirring it, so crashing it up may be better. Not sure if she will just eat around it though.. LOL.. Is it swelled or is it hard as a rock where the joint is? I mean does it feel squooshy or hard?
