I'll try and keep this short..,
Yesterday I bought two young rabbits, one a French Lop, The other an Old English. They both looked fine, bright eyed, shiny coated, and I had seen both eat and drink. On arriving home however, I took the two out of their transport boxes, the Old English started licking my hand profusely.
Now, these two are probably the most tame rabbits I have ever seen at this age, and not even scared of my huge legbar cock when he almost went for them.
When I woke up this morning, the Old English was doing the same thing as yesterday. She just licked my hand as soon as it came near her, and didn't stop until I moved a considerable distance away. I have heard of bunnies licking hands for the salt, or to seal relationships, but never for this long. I thought maybe she hadn't been weaned properly, or was dehydrated for some reason.
I then let her lick my hand while dribbling water down it, just in case she was in need of liquid, and her behaviour didn't change.
Now I hope I am just overreacting, and she may just be a really lovely bunny, but it would settle my mind if someone would be kind enough to get back to me and inform me of the truth.
Thanks
