Delaware blue hens ?

There is such a thing but they are rare. I know there is a member of BYC that owns some but I can't remeber the member's name.

Check the link in my signature line. Bec and I both have DBH, though mine are young still, between 9 and 14 weeks.

They don't sell eggs, chicks or adults. It is actually very hard to get a hold of them. I have a small flock. I was selling hatching eggs in the early spring, now I have let them out of their breeding pen and they are free ranging with my big flock. To learn more about the breed, I created a page that you can check it out, the link is in my signature line. It tells you everything you need to know. If you are still interested, please PM me or Ranchhand. .

Where are you from?

Hello oldchickenman!

I don't have anything available at this point. None of mine are laying and are not separated so their babies would be mixed with cochins IF they were to decide to get in gear and lay now. I may have some available next spring, I like to only have them separated at that time. I really like them to freerange as much as possible, especially in the summer when they can eat lots of good stuff!. They are very hard to get a hold of, it took me months to get some this past spring. They are certainly a neat breed!

Mine aren't of laying age, and Bec is in Dover, DE, much closer to you. They are very hard to find, I drove from SC to DE to get my chicks! 13 hours with 13 screaming chicks!

I should have some eggs this fall, but their eggs are fragile and don't handle shipping well.

It's really hard to find them, but perhaps in a few months my girls will start laying.
