Delaware, BR, Orpington Chicks Just Hatched

They are so cute!!! Congratulations!!! I am having fuzzybutt withdrawals. Only a few more weeks and I will have new fuzzies here. Buster is hatching some Buff & Blue Orp's for me and I have Barnevelder eggs and some Bantie Mottled Cochin eggs coming next week. I can't wait to see pic's of them in a week or two, especially Meg's baby.

Tomorrow night, weather permitting (and they are expecting 1-3" of snow tonight), a BYCer is coming to get three of the four BRs, the two Orps and Meg's baby. Hopefully, she will post progress pictures of that particular little one so I can see how it develops. It's coloring is interesting, almost like a Buff Brahma chick.

They are adorable! I can't wait til my own hatch in a couple weeks.

I noticed they're sitting on your hand that is soooo Delaware. Mine are just like that they're the ones who are all over me in the brooder.

Oh, I love that first pic! I looked at that and thought, "Look at all those straight little leggies!" They all look so healthy and strong!

The entire bunch is very healthy, that's true. The Delawares always rush the brooder door when we open it and the BRs do the same, but the two Orps hang back, which I've found to be pretty typical. Meg's baby sometimes runs up to the door and sometimes she hangs back a bit. The little Dels and BRs just want to sit on my DH's arm. Here's a picture of that today:

Yay! Delaware Pics!!! Thank you thank you I am agonizing over quirky bator temps but I BELIEVE i will get something to hatch from Ms. Tracy Shortcake's beautiful eggs! I am looking at these pics every day to sustain me in the LONG WAIT.

LOL, the little one that is marked green is a special chick that the breeder and I want to keep track of. Came from a particular hen with the alpha rooster. I am hoping for a truly spectacular rooster from this batch and that one, because of the pairing that created it, could be very special.
