delaware chick question

i bought 3 delaware chicks 2 pullets and 1 roo. they came from myer hatchery . they have black on there wings is this normal . i have 2, 1 yr old dels and they came from myer and they dont have black on there wings. maybe there columbian rocks.

Hi, I have never seen or owned any Delawares but the photo I have of them in the Cackle cataloge shows them with some black on the tail, neck and small amount on the wing. Did you have your other Dels from day olds? Maybe what you are seeing is just a stage of development. You should post a photo for those who are more experienced to see. The delaware's should always have a little black on their tail and wings, they get it from the Barred rock they are crossed with.
