Delaware won't lay

Did she ever start laying again? Did you figure out what it was?
She is now laying maybe an egg a week, at the most, and sometimes not even that. She is 3 years old and maybe she's just done. She's healthy and happy I think - so she'll just eat and squawk until she passes away. The eggs are good and regular looking when she has one; there are not any abnormalities with them.

So the rooster I ended up with? She, the diva Delaware that wouldn't lay, is one of his favorites. Don't know if it makes a difference but this girl is laying 4-5 eggs a week now. IDK if his attention kicked started hormones for her or if there is something I just haven't understood but she's going full bore right now.

That is great!!

I originally found this thread because my Delaware hen (1.5 years) stopped laying (last June). Similar situation as you listed about yours (not mites, not worms, not sick, etc.) and even after taking her to the vet (who confirmed she was healthy) and reading/rereading every article about egglaying, and doing all the usual things to ensure her health and happiness, she is still not laying. Of course, her friend (an Ameraucana) is laying. I’m inclined to think Delawares just like to take breaks. I’m hoping she starts laying again in the spring. Fingers crossed.
