I have one Delaware chick, all of my chicks were hatched 4/26, so they are 11 weeks old now. All are supposed to be female. Now, this chick doesn’t not crow, barely makes any noise actually, but man is the comb red! I’ve had early red combs before, my PBR 10 years ago had a big red comb early on. Gertrude (my PBR) was my first and most reliable layer for many years. This one, Stella, makes me nervous though. I already have one (not so nice) neighbor telling me “chickens are fine, but I won’t tolerate any roosters”. (Which is a “duh” thing to say since they aren’t legal where we are.)
I’m leaning toward pullet, but won’t know “for sure” until they start laying. First photo is me holding up the neck feathers while they were roosting last night, they all look very round to me.
