candling isn't hard at all, all you need is an LED flashlight you can shine in and check development and see if there is any internal pipping or anything. you have to do it in a very dark area to see inside the egg. I shine mine on the air sac side (bigger end) so I can look into the egg and check air sac development at the same time.
 
thanks for all the help aside from the snappy remark about people having lives.
its a true statement though.
i took a flashlight and an empty toilet paper tube and intense led flashlight to the eggs
after getting mom into the run. 1 egg was clear so i threw it away.
2 eggs completely black inside, did not stink but did not hear anything
when held to my ear. i put the 2 eggs back and am going to let her sit
on them and try to get some day old chicks ASAP to put under her.
she's a very gentle mom and i suspect she will accept them.
