If your concerns are about best option for a peaceful flock, then just keep one breed. Even then, there will be pecking order ordeals. Cant be avoided in flocks.
I personally would choose the fav 3 of each breed and keep them. (for total of 6) Reason I suggest 6, is you never know if all will survive, and since you do want at least 4, so choose the safer route.
I always kept a mixed flock, and never really had much problems. Pecking order ordeals occurred as they will always. In time, all chickens learn to live in harmony. Most problems arise, when new chickens are introduced into existing flock. After a certain time period, the newcomers become accepted.
When chickens grow up together from chick size, it is easiest method to have all get along.
Another reason problems occur, and very common, is overcrowding for size of living area. Coop over capacity, or run too small, or both.
