They can move eggs although in most instances the hen must be in nest and pulling it back under her using underside of bill. Some exceptional hens will move an egg several feet.

Sorry, I posted this in the wrong place and tried to delete it while you were posting. I moved it to the Chicken Behaviors section.

But in reply, it really surprised me that she lifted it so far off the floor to move it. Had to have been interesting to see.
