Delilah and Dudley!!

Yesterday Dudley, our new little gosling arrived at the post office at 4:30 am

I was hoping that my older goose, Delilah would raise him but I didn't think it was likely she would except him since she wasn't broody. After a couple of hisses and attempts to rip his head off she actually became very motherly to him

The two of them slept that night cuddled up together in a nest, side by side. Today Delilah took him out to explore the great outdoors for his first time.
She taught him how to swim in her bucket

The two of them strolled around munching on grass and a couple treats together

Occasionally Delilah will forget about him

but all in all shes being a great first time mother

Those photos are so sweet. i'm glad Delilah did not succeed in ripping little Dudley's head off in the first attempt. She certainly changed her mind about the new-comer!
