Hi again, we tried for an HOUR yesterday to pull/push pus out of Lavender Orp's eye. No luck. It's just so swollen.
We are doing Tylan round 2. 1.2 cc 2 x daily and terramycin/neosporin in the eye directly. That seems to keep a larger infection at bay but we can't just give her antibiotics the rest of her life, or can we?
1) Any tips on pulling pus out? We watched the videos but just can't seem to get the chunk to start exiting.
2) Should I start denagard in the waterer? They are free range in the backyard so drink out of a variety of things, not sure whether they'd get much, but maybe some is better than none? I bought the Denagard when she was a pullet and we couldn't shake whatever it is she has. She came from a crappy breeder, I'm sure all the birds there have MG.
The other chickens (2) in the flock show no signs of anything, though of course probably have whatever it is she has. She has just always been sickly, though a big strong bird and a decent layer.

Do you have Tylan50 or ?? How many days have you given the Tylan? Tylan 50 can be given 3 times a day so maybe bump it up, but looking at your other thread, she's got a lot of pus in the eye. The pus needs to come out in order for it to begin healing.
Tylan can be given for 5 days.

Without the pus coming out of the eye, the Denagard is not going to be any more help than the Tylan.

Yes, just a little bit. We tried to grab with tweezers and also just to squeeze but no luck

HOW can we get that pus? It is just SO hard to get her head stable enough.
@Eggcessive provide a couple of video links in your other thread.
You may need to wrap/swaddle her in a towel to capture her wings. Lay her down on a table, put a towel under her head to help cushion it and try again. A warm compress may help to loosen it a bit too.
I have (thankfully) not had to do this, but lots of people on BYC have, they just keep working at it.

OK, we will keep trying. I think what we did yesterday made it swell more, making the chunk harder to get to. Sigh. We will try the hot compresses. It all just seems to stress her out so much but I feel like we are probably not being aggressive enough.
