Scroll to bottom for photos. The stuff I am writing is just backstory. TL;DR is flock had a respiratory thing, and my lavender orpington was the only one who seemed to really get runny eyes, with some pus at the end of being sick. The first time I saw pus, I wiped her eye and then never saw any again and she got better. Her pupils and eyes seem different but I need to see if I have any good photos beforehand. I attached some generic lavender orp photos to show eye comparisons.

I will have to dig through my photos but not sure if I have any early photos of Lavender's eyes. There was some sneeziness going through the flock, and since I had had some coughing I had treated with Tylan/Dox 5-6 weeks before I kept putting off antibiotics because I had to cull some meat birds. Then as the birds were getting better (only two got really lethargic and icky, everyone else was largely some sneezes and runny noses. I treated the water with garlic for the worst two and they immediately perked up. One did end of dying a couple weeks later, but we think it was congestive heart failure because of her breed, Cornish Cross, who we had gotten from someone who accidentally got her not knowing what a CC was. She did make it 5 months, which isn't great, but she clearly had some health problems even early on. We kept her because she seemed to enjoy life, ran all over the place a surprising amount considering her big frame, and didn't even really seem ill except a couple of times for short periods, less than 48 hours. Otherwise we would have culled.)

Post formatted wonky and it wouldn't let me finish typing.

Lavender is fine now. No sneezing or runny nose. Eyes for better after treating with Neosporin for two days, and swiping pus away once. Energy levels completely normal.

Flock still has some sneezes but much less. No coughing. Turkeys have runny noses but everyone else's runny noses seem to be gone. However energy level and behavior is completely normal. No one even seems lethargic.

Obviously I am not going to cull Lavender. And I know there's not a 100% ability to know if it is ocular Marek's. I had some bird trades coming up (and will be telling both people so they can bow out if they want, but largely I seem to be the most worried about biosecurity scares than people I talk to, to the point I probably over share and worry people, but I would hate to Typhoid Mary someone's flock. However, one of the people also wants to breed as much natural resistance in their flock and seems to like (like being a strong word, but it furthers their breeding agenda) when their flock gets sick.

This Lavender Orp was hatched by me and was not given the vaccine. I don't have anything against vaccines, and probably would with future flocks in the future, but this was a learn as I go thing and I don't think the first hatchery I ordered from used vaccines so it was something I rolled with.

I don’t see anything that looks like ocular Mareks. There are some eyes that seem to have leakage in the coloring. Normally, with ocular Mareks the colored iris will become pale and gray and the pupil will appear irregular shaped and may be smaller. You can note the normal eye on the left and the abnormal ey on the right below:

It doesn't look like what I have seen in my flock either. I'll post a couple of pictures of mine. Does she seem to see ok, no issues with vision? It does also, to me, look like the pigmentation in her iris.

Wow! That's crazy!

Well when she was sick it looked like her pupils got huge at least in her eye that was really watering.

But no, I think I did hear her sneeze one today but she was out ahead of the others to get to the prime worm and cockroach spot as I was digging up potatoes and was generally zipping around trying to outrace the three or four chickens competing with her. Her eyesight appears to be normal. Just not sure.
