Dental Plans?

Would it be more cost effective to just have the work done and make payments on it? I don't even know exactly what they would be doing this time?

What is more permanent than bonding for a tooth?

Ah...I've found out that all I need to have done is to have the rough edges smoothed down instead of having the entire tooth re-bonded. I'll be contacting dentists around the area tomorrow to see what all that entails.

I think that AFLAC might have dental insurance . . .it was offered to us when I worked at school, along with life insurance and medical insurance and it was actually decent. There is also a commercial on TV about dental insurance, have not seen it for awhile but it sounded pretty good too but never gave a monthly cost amount. Just get online and type in dental insurance rates and see what happens. I would definitely call the BBB or someone and ask before pursuing any of them.

Sorry if this has been mentioned but is there a dental school near you? Their work is a fraction of the cost and is supervised by their teachers...

I went to esurance and picked out the best plan for our family. We still end up paying 20% on most of the really costly stuff but the cleanings are free and its for all 5 of my family for $62 a month. Which still isnt all that great because after paying the insurance payment I cant afford the $50 deductible!!

I am not 100% sure, but isn't Aflac only offered through employers?

That very well could be, but when I left the cafeteria, they let me take it with me for the same cost, (life insurance). So, you might be right, but it sure wouldn't hurt to ask!!! all they can do is say no.

Yes that is part of the COBRA act, you can keep your existing insurance for 18 months at the same price your employer pays for a 2% upcharge. Like I said, I am not sure, but it seems to me I heard you can only get it through work....

DH and I have Delta Dental too. Whoopy.

I recommend getting CareCredit. It is like a credit card for medical related expenses and usually has no or low interest. Dental insurance isn't worth it unless you need a lot of work done or you are vigilant about getting your cleaning, etc every 3 months as recommended.
