We are trying to find a deoderant that my daughter can use and not have her break out in a heat rash. We were using Secret then she got the rash so we switched to Dove and it's not any better. So if anyone has gone through this and has found something that works what are you using?

Are you sure it's a heat rash? If is was a heat rash, I would think she would be getting it even if she didn't wear deodorant. Is she young and just started wearing deodorant or changed deodorants? I'm thinking maybe a reaction to something in the deodorant like the perfume/dye/other ingredient.

I agree, this sounds like an allergic reaction to an ingredient. We need more details, is she new to using it or has this developed over time, etc...

I am allergic to most deodorants, found one put out by Addidas that uses cotton for absorbency and doesn't make me break out. I get it at Walmart, small stick is about $2.00. Most deodorants have aluminum chlorhydrate in them, that's usually the chemical that causes reactions.

Almay is the best! It's the only thing I can use without a rash. I use the scented (aloe), but there is an unscented version as well....

It started shortly after she started using deoderant and it was just one pit that reacted. I've been making sure that she's cleaning regularly. But now both of her pits are breaking out. My son has a dermatologist appointment on Tuesday and I'm going to bring her along and have him take a look at her.

I like the aluminum free, scent free, Arm and Hammer brand. It is easy to find and can go on sale. I think it works better than the Tom's as well.

I get rashes from deodorant and have to watch for perfumes.

It sounds like an allergic reaction to aluminum chlorohydrate, it has been said to be very toxic. There have been numerous studies done that have found a link between more traditional deodorants and breast cancer. With that said, I have tried most of the natural deodorants on the market and the only two that actually work are: Kiss MY Face make sure it is the "Active Life" kind or it won't work as well. (The cucumber and green tea is my favorite). The other one that works great is Natures Gate "Autumn Breeze" is my favorite scent. All the other brands mentioned work so long as you are in a nice air conditioned room. By try jogging for an hour, or gardening/cleaning out the chicken coop on a warm spring day and you can forget it you might as well not wear anything, at least for me anyway ha ha. You can buy these from Amazon.com if you don't have a local retailer/health food store. Hope that helps.
