How certain are you that they're depluming mites? Are you sure that the chickens aren't ripping each other's feathers out? Can you please post pictures of your chickens?
What clumps? These mites are invisible to the eye. If this issue is from depluming mites, the feather shaft will be bare. Birds will also chew off their feathers at the base.My neighbor confirmed. They have clumps at the end of the feather shift. Loss of feathers, egg production
