I have an 18 week old RSL Hen who has been kind of depressed lately. I did notice runny poop with the white urates (normal). Color is brown. It is true diahrrea as there were no chunks in it. She has a bent comb which looks dull now. She kind of lays around a lot, goes to bed early and is easily caught.

No bleeding or trauma. She does eat and drink, just not as much enthusiasm. I have given her yogurt and cooked oatmeal so far and she ate it. I had to go get her off the roost to eat, but she ate. She has perked up some today but still has runny poop. Her feathers are shiny. Her "sister" which was bought at TSC also, started laying a week ago. They have coop with pine shavings and enclosed run. They have a new outer run which she is not interested in but will go lay down by the others while they are scratching around. When she lays in the enclosed run the other "sisters" take turns standing or laying beside her. She was the alpha hen. I have just switched from FRM medicated chick starter to Dumor Layer (which I hate the smell of). Could the Dumor be bad? No other chickens are sick. I've had it for 2 months in the barn. I know of a "poultry vet" and could possibly see him today. I've sent in poop sample to diagnostic lab to have it tested (no results until 3 days). Could she be an internal layer? She seems better today. More scratching around instead of laying around. Poop looks better but still a little runny. Comb still bent to side and dull.

Is she vaccinated? I don't know what else to say but take her to the vet. We had a beloved hen that was acting the same way (she was not vaccinated) and she died a few days later. I would keep her with you at all times, animals really do respond to that. They have more of a will to stay alive.
