Please help! I think my chicken might be depressed. She is a Hamburg. She had 2 brother roosters who have died.Ever since,She has been acting depressed. Her wings drag across the ground, shes puffed up,she walks slowly, and hardly eats or drinks! I've put 2 smaller white hens with her,But that didn't seem to help. Will she get better, Or will I have to "Do away" with her??? I don't want to kill her,but I don't want her to die sad! Please help!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Sounds like something is running thru your flock to have killed 2 other birds. You will want to post this in our emergency section for more help. Hopefully it is something treatable like a bacterial or worm issue and not anything like Mareks. Here is the link to our emergency section....

I hope you can get her back to good health soon.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2 on posting in the Emergencies forum TwoCrows linked for you, with as many details of what is going on with your chickens as you can, how old are they, what does their poop look like, are they eating and drinking at all, when did they start acting sick and die etc.

What symptoms did her brothers have before they died? Is she showing any of the same?

Chickens can get depressed but, her behavior seems to indicate something else.
