I was inspired by Derp to get my own Favs some time ago, Bantams as all our chickens are Bantams, and found some from a breeder in Wisconsin. We nearly lost one of the boys right away when my son's dog got a hold of him at 3 days old. He felt limp and nearly lifeless, but I gave him electrolytes, put him in a separate heated box and kept him in the bed with me all night. Next morning, he was fine! Well, he is a little off balance still and always will have to steady himself by holding one wing down, but nobody minds. They are almost 2 yrs old now.

We call them our Big Bang Theory chickens, with 2 two roos named Leonard & Sheldon (Sheldon is the one that isn't quite right), and all the girls are named Penny, so it's "Penny, Penny, Penny".

We unexpectedly lost one of the Pennys this week. They have all just come off their molt and none of us were ready for the suddenly cold weather, despite best efforts.

We have quite a few different Bantam breeds, but the Favs sure are sweeties, even the boys. I'm always picking them up. They are very responsible roos, too, always looking out for their girls. Leonard looks out for a pen of mixed Bantams and Sheldon has the "Penny's".

Anyway, we are very happy with our Bantam Salmon Favorelles, all because we were inspired by Derp!

I found this shirt online today and thought you guys might get a kick out of it. I tried to order but I guess they will only print them if at least 15 people sign up to get one (screen printing is hard to do unless you want to make a bunch).
