Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

My favorite funny was photos of Derp morphing into a loaf of bread - just hysterical

I remember those pictures. They were great.
A new BYC member joined yesterday and she mentioned this thread...
I have never run across it before.
So because of her post I wanted to come start from the beginning but I can't se any pics. :hit

I've been reading this thread for about two weeks, and I'm up to page 331. Leaving a post to mark my place and to subscribe. Love, love, love Derp and all the others, and of course Fud Lady and Fud guy!

Finally done reading all 4516 posts. This has been an amazing ride with its ups and downs, joys and sorrows. I too am looking to hearing news of Derp and Fud Lady.

Hello again Derperella fans!

I have news. Some good, some sad.
Derperella continues to do well in the house, and has periods of time where she can hold her head pretty straight! We even considered re-introducing her to the flock, but after several attempts, it turns out that Derp is a warrior princess! She tries her best to fight any other chicken she sees, and never calms down. Yikes! Okay Derp, you can stay in the house! We love you.
The Fud Guy and I just finished building a huge new coop for my flock! I'll get some photos soon. I took everything I've learned in the last 6 years and made coop #2, greatly improved and about 200 square feet.
I ordered some new chicks for the first time since my original flock came to me. 6 Bielefelders from Greenfire. I had to order birds that have the Marek's vaccine, and I wanted birds that focus on quality, not quantity. I'm trying to avoid heartbreak, if I can....
Which leads me to the bad news. Yesterday, dear Moa left us. She had been suffering from egg peritonitis for a while, and we had procedures done on her and medication to help prolong her time with us, but in the end she became very weak and her body was shutting down. I couldn't let my friend suffer. I made a post and shared photos of her here, if you want to see: http://nambroth.tumblr.com/post/166846316327/a-tribute-to-moa-may-2011-october-2017-barred

I am very heartbroken over dear Moa....

I know I have been frequently inactive in this thread, which I feel bad for. I have a hard time finding the energy to log on and post. I wonder if I would feel re-energized by a new thread about my flock as a whole, especially with my first new chicks in a while coming next spring? That way I can post photos again that work, since there is no way to fix the photos that are "broken" at the start of this thread. What do you guys think?

I was just thinking about Derp this morning, and got so excited to see a post. I'd say do what you have time and ability to do. I'm so new to this thread, but what is clear to me is that you've got your hands full with life. I didn't get to see those early photos, but I'm ok. Knowing that Derp and Fud Lady and Fud Guy are doing well is enough for me.
