Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

Well I have tried everything I know to view the videos posted by NovaAman and Nambroth and spent a fair bit of research time in the 'how to make it work' section, but I have had no luck.

If anyone has any suggestions, however remote, please suggest away.

I do have an elderly computer, but am using Google Chrome.

do you watch things on youtube? here is a direct link to it - see if that works

This is the miracle of little Derperella, don't you see?

God took something that, in the world's eyes, was 'worthless', 'throw-away', 'useless', 'defective'... and used that something to change the world - even if it's just this little corner of it.

This is huge. This is God stuff.

Listen, those of you who have ears to hear.

I think when Derp stares into space, she may very well be staring into heaven. I'd stare too.

you have such a gift with words! I think you are right!! Thanks for sharing that- i have many special needs birds- and you eloquently put it for them too..

Coho hits some interesting notes. It looks like she has a couple fluff feathers poking into her right eye.

Nope, not quite! Coho's fluff keeps out of her eyes, though it is close. Derp's fluff DOES go into her eyes though-- right into the lid. I have to trim them sometimes.

Humans, remember what it was like when you were young and awed by the simplethings around you?
That is every day for me! I don't know if it's because I view the world as an artist or if I'm just simple! I can spend hours looking at the little things and I get so excited.

I'm just wondering.. How do you tell the difference between Chickadee and Moa?

It's funny. Most people can't tell them apart but it's as clear as night and day to me!
Chickadee has a finer barring, has a slimmer frame, always carries her tail more upright, has a bright and curious face, has a comb that flops over her left eye, and is light on her feet.
Moa has blockier, messier barring, a few all black feathers, is much heavier in body, has a smaller tail, has a stern face, has an upright and rumply comb, and generally plods around.

They also have different voices and personalities. Moa 'whispers' and Chickadee "Boops".

Wow, okay. I hit the button once, ended up with 4 responses, and now there're only two. Lost what I said, too. :/

Anyway, it was something to the effect of I had been hoping Trousers would crow in the one video, and I was glad to hear that my hens aren't the only ones to make those funny little noises. :)

He crows SO rarely! I haven't got it on video yet. So far he has only ever crowed when something is wrong... such as if they run out of food or if he feels a hen is distressed.

Aw. :love I had just been reading your flock page where you talk about his deep, manly voice and was hoping to hear it. I mostly got excited because in the one video (where it looks like they're free-ranging on a patio?), he turned his back to the camera and it almost looked like he was about to crow. But if he uses it as a warning cry, I absolutely don't blame you for not having gotten video of him crowing yet!

(Dare I hit post..? ETA: Okay, we're good. )
