Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends

I can't believe the temperatures that you are all discussing! My girls are obviously very well off here in south west France. We've had an exceptionally mild winter - no snow at all, and only a couple of weeks where it was below 0°C (32°F) overnight. I feel chilly just reading your posts!

Fingers crossed that it starts warming up for everyone soon

It's finally done - I've mounted my three ACEO's and framed them:

They are wonderful - thank you so much Nambroth! They go so well in my 'chicken corner' of the living room:

So far I have Namroth's lovely watercolours, a painting by a local artist that my husband bought me for my birthday last year, and on the printer's typesetting desk (which dates from 1908) a copy of 'Jardins & Basse Cours' - a French fortnightly publication about gardening and chicken keeping, which is from 5th March 1910. (It's got some amazing information in it - a lot of which is still relevant today.)

My OCD (Obsessive Chicken Disorder) is definitely not going to go away!

Hello everyone!

Some of you may remember, once upon a time, the Fud Lady had planned on making Derperella plushes. What a grand idea! Little snuggle Derps for everyone.
Then the Fud Lady actually MADE a plush Derp, and she realized, goodness gracious... getting a quality plush stitched up with all the best stitches without a machine, and a little custom sculpted beak, and oh dear. It took a long time and hurt the Fud Lady's hands. Owch.

So the Fud Lady started experimenting, and made this!
It is sort of a plush, but has a hard core. It's more for looking at than hugging. It's also REALLY SMALL! Only a few inches tall.
Not really a plush, or a toy, but a mini Derp to keep you company, and STARE at you. It's also fun to pet.

What do you think?

wow that is so incredibly lifelike! I believe you captured the Derp expression wonderfully

I have totally adored reading about Derp and her adventures! You are a GREAT writer! (and the plushie is ADORABLE!)

You should totally put them together in a book or an online "webcomic" sort of format, so one can enjoy the story in one go.

Wish we could clone Nambroth so that she COULD have time to take care of her family and her birds, plus her art, plus all of the things that she is always doing for people. Poor Fudlady is going to get stretched too thin with so much going on.

Dont forget to take care of YOU too. We would be devastated with no more derp stories and memorabilia.
