Thats a good sized serema hen then! My girl is so very much smaller than my silkie hen, and about the same size as the 2 month old silkie chicks! LOL. Blackie is super tiny... No I didn't name her... DS did.

well, maybe she needs a friend???:)  i have 2 RIR and they are the sweetest girls!!

Robin, once she is fat, clean and free of wax feather tubes she will have alot of buds to choose from. My BIG concern is getting her beak in good shape so she can eat and possible preen herself... She was either intentionally or UN-intentionally de-beaked somewhere along the line and has a very hard time eating. Because the top beak is no longer there to keep the lower beak in check [lengthwise] there is a huge difference in length of them. I am whittling the bottom beak shorter to help..That will be a long process. In just a few hours she went from being a zombie to watching me and she LOVES to be combed.

Here was my Derp look alike. We just re homed her to our local farm today. I hope no one takes this offensively, and I am not talking about all Favs when I say this. I did not like my Fav at all. She was loud, unfriendly, ate a lot,and picked other birds' feathers. She was horrible and we got rid if her. Am I the only one who had a horrible experience with a Faverolle?
Her name was Chewy, and it turned out to be a great name since she liked to pick feathers:

Not at all. There a jerks in every breed. I have a brat faverolle too. Beulah is a rotten girl. She does not like to be touched, doesn't like but 2 other girls, one being her sister from a different brood, and a half sister from yet another brood. Anyone else sits by her and she is a crabby peck machine. If she didn't lay an egg every day and get her come uppence every so often from one of the bigger girls, she may have been rehomed.

I guess I just god a bad apple. i still don't know if I will ever get Faverolle though. Maybe a roo, but I just don't love the breed. Derp is cool though. I would get a DERP, (NOT a Faverolle) any day!
