*DESPERATE* Need Help Choosing A Aruacana Pullet

Hyello, I'm pretty new to this forum and I just started raising my own chickens I have 2 Barred Rocks 1 pullet 1 cock and I'm about to get another tommorow. I desperatly need to choose a pullet because if i get a roo, i'll have to give it in...

and i won't be able to choose another. At the store they told me there's no way to know, but then the idea of asking for help smacked me around the head and I remebered reading some of the posts at this site. I was hoping with all the chicken buffs floating around someone will be able to offer advice.... PLEASE???????

Do you want an Ameraucana or Araucana chick or a Barred Rock? I forgot the title of your thread, sorry. I told you below sexing for Barred Rocks. The feedstore will probably have Easter Eggers, not Araucanas or Ameraucanas. Those are impossible to sex at hatch and sometimes it takes months. Pea combed breeds aren't the easiest to sex sometimes. I raised Ameraucanas for awhile, so trust me, I know!

The following applies to BRs, not Araucanas or Ameraucanas. Pick the one with the tiniest spot on the head, a well-defined spot, AND very dark black (not silvery) looking down AND lots of dark wash down the front of the legs. If you get one with all three traits, you'll most likely have a pullet. BUT, that's only about 90% accurate. Sometimes they fool you. And this may only work with pure Barred Rocks,not crosses.
