I am in need of someone with alot of chicken knowledge. I have a 7 month old silkie frizzle. I went to the coop about 2 and a half weeks ago and there were 3 chickens in there all about the same size. One (my favorite) was on its side. I thought maybe a broken wing because it was dragging when it tried to move. I strapped it in with a baby t-shirt but then it couldnt do anything but roll. Its been using the ends of its wings to brace itself. I cant feel a break in any bones. It can push its legs out and move them in but it doesnt move its toes ro wrap your finger or perch. it eats, drinks, leans its body to the side of a small coop I have it in to support it so it doesnt roll over. Without leaning on something it will roll to the right side. We have no vets here and the tractor supply doesnt see them at their vet. They are considered domestic animals. Any suggestions? Has anyone had anything else like this happen

I can't speak to most of your concerns, but chickens' feet are not like those of parakeets and sparrows, which curl and grip tightly around a dowel or finger to perch. They are more flat-footed; their feet are designed primarily for scratching in dirt to help them look for bugs and seeds. Compare your sick bird's foot reflexes to those of your healthy birds to get a better assessment of what's going on with her toes and feet. I wish her well.
