I am sorry about your situation but by trying to look at it as a city or county restriction, I think they would say you don't need 50 chickens to feel better.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you've joined us! I understand how hard it is to reduce the flock and make choices. Hopefully you can appeal to the zoning board and be able to keep more than 6.
