Welcome...I'm new also...and new to chickens! I got mine as chicks in the middle of May! I have been having the best time. I got 4 RIR and 4 Buff Orps. I was told they were all girls but I am thinking 2 are roosters. I am also growing my first
garden this year. Working on being more self sufficient! For gardening, I am using containers and "growboxes". Our soil here is really sandy and doesn't hold water so we are trying the container route! So far it has gone well!

Anyway, welcome and you will learn alot on this site. It has become an addiction for me!

welcome from another bluenoser (with newfie roots- mom's side)!!! we're on the eastern shore and this is a great site! hope you get chickens soon... I have a friend who's a farmer who will not eat anything that "comes out a chickens butt"! hahaha I think it's hilarious but he thinks it's disgusting!! I can hardly wait to eat the eggs that come out my chickens butts...
