Determining Sex of 3 1/2 to 4 week old chicks?

I don't see any roo characteristics, though it's still a little early to tell - no comb or wattle development, though. I'm going with Maxine.

This is pretty late in all but if she/he is about 4 or 3 weeks old I would say its a Maxine!! because I read that their cones will be dark red... and if the tip of their wings are not fully feathers its a male... Oh and i also read that if you hold them up and the if their legs hang their males you know the rest but it said that it never really worked. Last thing if Max/ Maxine are not maturing as they should then its a male but what I see in the picture Im most sure its MAXINE

Since you chimed in late, I'll tell you that Reggie was definitely a Roo and he defended his girls gallantly, but died last year during a hawk attack. Maxine is definitely a hen. Max (as we call her) is the best chicken. She's calm, loves being held, and is the most curious of all our chickens. She's the one that jumps into the car to see what groceries I bought for her. She's the one that goes through any open door, always making a sweet clucking sound. She also lays brown eggs...which was a real shocker for us. Here's a picture of her from last summer!
