My duck (Buff) laid her first 3 eggs in two days. I am not for sure if I have a male or not so I wanted to ask if duck egg 1 looks like its developing compared to egg 2. I've been incubating egg 1 for 2 days and egg 2 has not been incubating. The third egg was a bad egg and I broke it open and will show you.

The incubated egg is on the Right, 48 hours in, non incubated on left, both pictures.

Anything in this yolk? Just trying to rule out whether I have a male or not.

He or She is the one in front. I definitely know the one behind him/her is a female. This duck acts the complete opposite of the real female and does not do anything she does. It wont touch oyster shell, it wont nest, it wont do anything that I've seen my female do.

Not a drake, If it were he would have a gray head by now with a yellow bill and a curl at the end of it's tail.. No drake here.

How old is that male? Mine are only 5 months old. When do they usually develop colors like that?

At five months your 'Drake' would definitely be showing his colors and curl by now, This is a picture of my 4/5 month old Khaki campbell drake, He has all of his coloring and clearly has a curl at the end of his tail.. Drakes also have a very raspy wheezy voice while hens have a more loud Quake sound. I think it's safe to say you don't have a drake.

Metzer farms sucks
? Were they suppose to be a breeding pair? If you ask me, I think it's for the best that they both turned out to be hens.. One hen for a drake is definitely not enough, I strongly suggest next time getting 4 hens per drake to avoid problems such as over-breeding, It's also nice to have more then two ducks in case something were to happen with one leaving the other alone and depressed..

I ordered 2 females and 1 male but one didn't make it. The ID bands were removed before it died so i have no idea. Bummer i guess
