I dewormed my birds ( quails, peacocks, pheasants, chuckar partridges, etc ) with ivomec the first dose. I understand that I should give them a second doze 10 days later.
I also have valbazen (albendazole oral suspension USP), which I did not administer to them yet. My questions are :

Do I have to give them the second doze of ivomec yet , or can I start with the
valbazen now without the second doze of ivomec ?

Is there a wait period before I can give the valbazen?

Waiting impatiently,

Give the Ivomec in ten days. Unless you have a verified problem with worms, I would wait three to six months before deworming again with anything. If you are are trying to get rid of a worm infestation, then wait a month or two before deworming again.. Then use the Valbazen. It's good to switch them out once in a while.

Some of the birds are in rough shape with worms it seems. These ones would it hurt to give Valbazen instead of ivomec on day 10?

I don't know really. I don't think it would hurt....although I've asked that same question and been told to stick with the same one for both times. You could send a PM to Dawg53...he's pretty knowledgeable about that. Or, just ask your regular vet, if you have one. Castcartpony (Kathy) is pretty knowledgeable about parasites, too. If nothing else works, you can always call the manufacturer..most have a toll free number...and ask them.

I seen an about 1-1/2 " white worm on the ground where the chuckar partridges are . Seems it was a roundworm, but a while back now, I butchered
some chuckar and seen the trachea had worms in it which I suspect is gape worm.

worms in he trachea could also be capillary worms. Hard to get rid of. so, after you deworm the second time, definitely I would deworm a month later, and then at two or three months, and again in spring.
