dexter cows

A Dexter bull! My fiance's dad has one, and I took my Jersey there to have her bred. So, now I have a lovely half-Dexter heifer calf! I don't have any experience with Dexter cows, but the bull was a good one. Nice (for a bull), short and stocky, easy keeper (on grass and hay alone, he was actually becoming a butterball). His calf a little firecracker: super healthy, active, well built, and already a good grazer at 6 weeks.
Hope others can give you more info. I think they are a great breed!

Unfortunately no, but that is how I got chickens. I was going to visit a Dexter farm in Petersburg, IL (because I was thinking about getting one or two) and the husband didn't want Dexters so he agreed to the chickens!

I still want a couple of Dexters but will probably have to wait on them. There are lots of good websites I found when researching them though.

I am interested in them once we get a farm. (That and Scottish Highland cattle)
