Dh is gonna kill me, I ordered more eggs!

We just had this talk last week. No more eggs til fall. I saw these great eggs on a egg auction site and won some ameracauna eggs. They were not much, under 50.00 for a dozen which is a good deal for true blue eggs. I could not resist but swear now I am done. I could sneak and not tell him but I haven't kept anything from him in the 24 years we were married and besides the paypal is in his account so he will know anyways when the egg site comes up. He does not understand my addiction to chickens, chicks, eggs well everything. I get such a high with hatching eggs, almost like I'm breathing life into something. I truely love all my chickens and just want more, more, more!!!

I understand, I was just tell/asking DH about a swap meet that I want to go to the day before Father's day! That went great! He is very understanding and good hearted.

I started out wanting any and every chick I saw. I have calmed down now, but now hubby is the one that is chick, chicken, and egg crazy!

LOL, I know what you mean. He says no more chicks! Well he's an avid gardener, so I sit him down (after a few drinks

) and explain to him he has such a passion for gardening, because it fulfills his soul, yada, yada, yada. DH: "yes, you're right." I then explain in a somewhat somber tone that I need soul fulfillment too and its hatching a few chicks. He sighs, and says "Ok, you're right, I see your point." I say, "the chicks are due to hatch next week."

He says, Oh all right. Works every time!!

I hear ya, I have too many chickens as is and I just bought some EE eggs.. I really wanted a chicken that lays colored eggs!! Good job with the true ameraucana's though, those would be nice to have!

I understand your egg addiction. I got home yesterday and my wife said I had a delivery on the dining table. I looked and there were 4 big USPS priority mail boxes on the table. All of them were labeled with fragile/hatching eggs. She asked why I needed more eggs.

What she doesn't know is that I have 3 more orders on the way. After I get those I think I'll be done for a while...maybe.

Dh picked up last friday about 40 chicks that I ordered from the feedstore. I'm restarting my egg laying flock this year since we had a horrid predator massacre this winter. So yes, in the last 2 weeks I have spent a lot of money on chickens. Well while he was there picked me up a dozen turkeys and 5 more baby pekins ducks. So he is enabling in a way...
Well I sent dh a email saying what I was doing today. We have a hobby farm and I am on vacation and said I was going to mow the back pasture which is probally about 5 acres that he has not gotten to yet, and start on spring cleaning the barn today. Then i slipped in how much I adore all the work he does and with the farm ect. I told him then about the eggs and he emailed me back what a great wife he has and wrote back "About the eggs... no problem." They really do surprise you sometimes. I better go get mowing that back pasture.

I had the bators turned off b/c we're moving at the end of June, but 2 of my broodies stopped sitting after the monsoons last week, so I fired the bators back up for those eggs...then I ordered 2 dozen more!

DH will find out when they show up at the door today and tomorrow. I figured since we're not moving until the END of June I have time to hatch them.
