DH Just Surprised Me With An Egg Genie

I don't know what he spent on it, but it's still in the box.

It's kinda like one of those Ronco things.

I'm not familiar with this one but I have an "Oster veggie steamer" that has an egg tray/bowl that does basically the same thing and works well. Oh yeah! That was just too cool!!!

DH and I just poached a couple of eggs in this and it was amazing! We shared them just to see what we'd done and they were so easy and YUM!! I haven't tried boiled eggs yet. I have only a dozen eggs in my fridge and that means they're just a couple of days old. Too fresh for peeling.

He bought it at Walgreens for $19.99...no shipping!

Ya that is how I do my hard cooked eggs...in the electric veggie steamer

I have one of the steamer bowls that came with it that holds about 8 eggs or so...but I dont use it lol I just use the big one and theow in the eggs. So I can cook about 1 doz-1.5 at a time....they come out great too!

So nice to not have to worry about the water and turning it off... just wait for the ding and throw eggs into ice water. Perfect

In fact looking at the Oster link above... that is the newer version of the one I have. I will probably be upgrading eventually to the newer ones ...but thsi one has been a good friend for a long time!I have cooked everything in there from eggs to rice to veggies to clams and seafood. Its a great tool
