Headed out to the coop to round up the girls last night as usual. A couple were squacking to beat the band, figured they just had a lot to talk about. Our new little banty roo was pacing by the door, ignored that too.
Headcount . . . . .uh oh. One of the new chicks is missing, a polish. They are about three months old now, but bantys so still smallish. YIKES! DD & I search our 2 acres for 20 minutes or so. Getting worried because she'll be really hard to see if we lose daylight.
Enter DH . . . . He comes to the back door after hearing us call "chicky, chicky" for awhile and says "Gee, ya lookin for a lost chicken? I saw one of the littles ones over by those trees when I pulled in (about 15 minutes ago). It was one with that crazy hair on top"
Search the dense vines growing on the two trees indicated -- EUREEKA!! We found her, snuggled deep in the vines. NEVER would have found her if he hadn't spoken up! So DH is the hero for the day!!
