So, we went into the feed store today to get chick grit and shavings, and of course I HAD to look in the chicks bins... and lo and behold, they had gotten some "Ameracaunas" in (probaby Easter Eggers- its owned by TSC) and I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wanted to get some... I told DH "I should get 3 more- so that we have an even 40"... he said "yeah, but we can't do it right now..."

Its a good thing he was there with me, 'cause I woulda brought home 3 more babies... I guess I'll just have to wait till later... *sigh* SO hard to say no... they were such cute little fuzz butts!! My chicks are 3 weeks old and entering that "teenager gangliness" stage.... I would've had to put these guys in a separate brooder for a couple weeks, and I just don't have the space... but it was SOOOOO hard to walk away...

Never thought I'd say that... LOL

Next time I will have 1/2 my flock brahmas. They are my favorite!

Oh, we were only suppose to have two birds to begin with. It doesn't help that I know there was a new shipment of brahmas at the farm store yesterday.

BUT... he did say, "yeah... just not now."

I feel your pain. I had to juggle brooders and mini-coops today for all the growing babies, but the new babies are just too darned cute!!

Yeah- we just had to separate our chicks into two brooders 'cause they outgrew the one... so I had a little Rubbermaid tub that I was using as a small brooder for one chick that was getting pushed out of the feed, and after we finished I said "See! We could've brought home 3 more chicks and put them in there!!!" He just shook his head.... even though he understands chicken math, I don't know that he will ever fully comprehend it!

He is a great guy!! I'm already talking about what I want to get next year and he's pretty cool with it all... just hope he makes the coop so we can expand it!
