Dear SkyAJK,
You are a very attentive and dedicated chicken mom!
(Food change) Yes, it seems like getting them to eat all the supplements via pellets would have to be a great benefit. Pellets is not my first choice as it is heated fairly high in the process. But what can you do? Even when I soaked and/or fermented the (raw) layer mash, they still managed to eat almost no supplements. I only hope that the occasional veggie will make up for it.
Also, I don't know how many hens you have but it won't hurt for the whole flock to drink silver/water. After they nearly empty the water, I simply refill with plain water. This is the dish I use. I place it on gravel when they're free ranging or elevate in the run to keep it clean. I personally don't like to offer water in plastic, and such drinkers are typically harder for me to clean. During a cold snap, when it freezes, I bring it in to thaw and put out a second (silver/water) bowl. I bring it in each night to clean. If there's a good amount remaining, I save it.
I just looked at Etsy for less expensive options. But for oral use, I'm not comfortable using other brands. If you scroll down here, you will read what's special about Silver Biotics. As an aside, I have frequently used their silver liquid to flush wounds, and their gel to heal wounds. If you can close a wound after flushing, and apply gel, it will form a "barrier" once dry. I have had great success with ourselves as well as dogs on pretty serious injuries.
For a wound that has lost inner flesh, I use a calendula salve until the hole has filled in. Of course, sometimes you really need stitches. =)
The liquid also works well after a tooth extraction instead of dyed/chemical antibacterial products.
Disclaimer: I am not offering medical adice.
