In the Brooder
Hello all. I have a 2 year old EE hen who has some concerning symptoms. I noticed yesterday that she was sitting down some and not out free ranging with the rest. Her poops have also been pretty runny with a little solid matter that is greenish. Her crop felt flat for most of the day yesterday and when she went to roost for the night, it felt like there was some water in there but not much else. I have seen her at the feeder once and she has been drinking water, but she's clearly not eating much. Her abdomen feels normal and not bloated. Her last egg was probably around 5-6 days ago. She will still go outside and she still runs from me when I go to pick her up, but wherever she is she just seems to stay in one place and not move much.
I feed 18% chick starter to everyone with oyster shells on the side. They don't really get any treats with the exception of scrambled eggs every few weeks and whatever they find while out free ranging. This hen has also never been dewormed. I have Corid, Valbazen, and Fish Mox on hand if needed. I was thinking of giving her Corid since it I know it won't harm her and we did get over 2 inches of rain this past weekend, though I've never had a problem with coccidiosis before. I'm also not sure if I should cage her within the coop. Nobody is picking on her and I don't want to stress her out too much. I would appreciate any input on this. Thank you.
