diarrhea

Related to a previous thread I posted, I have several 13 week old pullets that have had brown diarrhea. My poop board always has well formed droppings, so it appears the issue occurs during the day. I have noticed that the birds in question eat a lot of the falling leaves. Its humorous watching them swallow then and surprised they don't choke. I wonder now if the diarrhea could be caused by the leaves they eat? I may rake out the run.

I am unsure about this, my flock don't eat the autumn leaves, the prefer fresh leaves and grass when free ranging. Hopefully someone has experience with their chickens eating autumn leaves.

Unfortunately I had to give up free ranging due to high losses. My run gets a fair amount of falling leaves that make it through the aviary netting. The older birds who have free ranged don't see partially dead leaves as food. The younger ones see everything as food.

I have a similar poop problem. So I took a picture of the poop in question and asked the lady I got my chickens from. According to her it is normal and chickens have this poop if they drink a lot of water. Well this picture was taken in a hot day(30c+). Also I have noticed when my chicken poops twice in a short period of time or when she gets surperised, her poop is watery brown. My gosh things I monitor....

Yours looks like healthy cecal poop. It probably smells bad My birds was runnier and chunkier, not to be gross or anything ....
