Diarrhea

Hi all-
I have a flock of 19 birds half are 18 months old and the other half are 6 months. and several of them have had very watery diarrhea. I treated them all with safeguard 2 times 10 days apart. It’s been 8 days since the last treatment and some are still having very loose stool. Do I retreat or take one to the vet? Not sure what to do. I’ll post pics of their poop. Thanks so much for any advice!!

How are your chickens acting? Are they all alert, active, and eating well? What dosage of SafeGuard did you give? SafeGuard given once and in 10 days will treat roundworms and cecal worms. Other possible worms, such as capillary worms and gapeworms, would need treatment for 5 consecutive days at a dosage of 1/4 ml per pound of weight given orally to each bird.

Diarrhea itself can be hard to diagnose without a fecal float by a vet. They can have runny droppings because they drink a lot of water, from coccidiosis, from crop disorders, and reproductive issues.

They are all acting fine. Eating and drinking well. Here are pics from today. It’s the first time I’ve seen a rusty color stool. Also did you notice crystals like in the poop? What is that? From the safeguard? I use sand in the run. Crops all feel fine. I gave a pea size drop to each on bread.
