Sorry for the gross picture but I need help!
I have 2 Isa Browns who lay pretty much every day. being the new chicken mom that I am, when I got them a year ago as chicks I spoiled them with mealworms as they got older. I try and cut back and not give them so many but it’s hard because they love them.
Today my favorite hen pooped this out… she’s not been laying regularly for the last week. Our weather has been somewhat mild, but started dipping down overnight into the teens this week. I do not put a heater on them. I do however bring them inside to my mudroom when it gets below zero.
She’s eating and drinking normally and acts normal, so I’m hoping that this is just a weird poop for her today. I thought there was worms in it, but it’s not. It’s just fecal matter, but there is a lot of mucus in it. The other concern is the amount of this dropping.
Any ideas?
