Hey, I need happy hatching wishes or prayers coming my way. I have waited a LOOOONG time for baby Call Ducklings. The lady that is hatching them for me said that tomorrow is the official hatch date, so hoping I hear some great news soon!

The temps were fine according to two thermometers. Now I'm concerned my chicken eggs are to dry. I would of had a good hatch if the humidity had been right. I gathered these eggs. They couldn't of been started.

I candled and every single 17 duck eggs have veining! OMG yes all 17! and I am so sure of hot and cold spots in my incubator now too! some are growing faster that are more centered in the bator! its so full I haven't been rotating them like I usually do, and yes I have them double stacked some too!
.

OZ do you think I should set the blue and greenish eggs and throw the rest in the woods? I don't want chicks I cant get rid of. do you think people would buy EE's is it worth the hassle and room of brooder?
i put an add on our local yahoo group and gave then away. I set the 6 blues and the green. They will pick the others up from me tomorrow. Maybe I can build good will and rather not toss them.

I think its hilarious we bought eggs within 2 days of each other from the same silly vendor who does not know a lot about chicken breeds.

Here's one for you. My kids noticed my duck eggs pipped in incubator #1. It's 4 days early. The humidity had bottomed out. The sacks had sucked down on them. I hatched 4 out alive. I had to manually do it. The rest were like they should of been at day 24. What the heck happened? I have 24 chicken eggs due to hatch Wednesday in that bator. I don't know if any are alive. I still had everything in the turner. Should I remove the turner early? My thermometers showed a constant 99.5. This is a forced air incubator. I'm real confused.

WHAT! wow! were these your eggs? do you think they had already been incubating before set or what?

What breed again? and how many days does that breed duck take?

what in the world! my guess points directly too high temps! but weird enough isn't it!

Mixed breed. Supposed to take 28 days. I gathered them. They hasn't been started. Temps were at 99.5 with forced air on two thermometers.

but did you calibrate the thermometers? what kind are you using?

Do you have another batch in? are they due today? If they are in lockdown you can up humidity to 82-84 and it may be enough for them or you may have to candle and tap and check at least one following the assist article, only create a view hole in one to see inner membrane, don't touch inner membrane.... its all in the assist... again I forget what day/s timing and such your on!
